A clerk can post the G/L document with the amount which is authorized for him to approve. If he needs to post a G/L document with excess amount than authorized, the document needs to be saved and send for higher authority review.

The process of saving G/L document with excess amount than authorized is called as Park G/L document posting.

Example :

Let us assume a clerk has authority to post G/L documents with a maximum amount $1000. There is a situation that he needs to post a G/L document with amount $2000 which he does not have the authority.

In these scenarios, SAP provided Park Facility for the document which allows the user to save the document, but the amount is not posted in the G/L Accounts. The document can be reviewed by High Authority who has appropriate posting amount authorization.

Once approved, the document is posted in G/L Accounts.

Below process is to park a g/l document posting.

Step-1: Click on SAP Menu → Accounting → Financial Accounting → General Ledgers → Posting → FB50 – Enter G/L Account Document.

Step-1: Enter the transaction code FB50 in the SAP command field and click Enter to continue.

Step-2: Enter the Company code and click on right mark.

Step-3: In the next screen, Enter the below details.

  • Document Date
  • G/L Account to be Credited
  • Credit Amount
  • G/L Account to be Debited
  • Debit Amount

Step-4: Click Enter and then check the status of the document.

Step-5: Once the details are entered, click on Park button.

Step-6: Status bar displays the document number like below once the document posted successfully.
