SAP PP What is Goods Movement against Production Order

What is Goods Movement against Production Order? –

They are two goods movement against production order that impacts inventory of the material. They are –

• Goods Receipt (GR)
• Goods Issue (GI)

They are done through movement types in SAP.

Goods Receipt(GR) –

The goods receipt against order will be executed with the movement type "101" while producing the material. After the execution of goods receipt, the system will increases the stock of the material at the related storage location.

Goods Issue(GI) –

The goods issue against order will be executed with the movement type "261", whenever they consume the component materials in order to produce other material. After the execution of goods issue, the system will decreases the inventory of the components at the related storage location.
